Each purchase of a Pretty Darn Cute Design theme comes with unlimited free theme support. We respond to support questions within 24-48 hours (depending on weekends and holidays), and often within minutes, if you happen to catch me online. 🙂
So, what exactly qualifies as “theme support”, and what is “customization”?
Examples of theme support questions:
- My theme doesn’t look like the demo. I’ve read the set-up instructions, but I’m not understanding how you have your blog page set up.
- My featured posts don’t look like the demo.
- My featured images don’t look like the demo (make sure that you have run the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin!)
Theme support addresses issues which prevent the user from getting the theme to look like the demo, or from having the intended functionality of the theme. These issues will be responded to by our support desk, and are classified as “support”.
Examples of Theme Customization:
- How do I change the color of my links?
- I would like to change the size of my header/logo.
- I want to make my sidebars wider.
- I want to remove the mobile responsiveness of the theme.
Theme customization refers to user preferences, rather than actual theme setup/functionality issues. Depending on the level of customization, and our available time, we will be happy to respond to your question; this may be done by pointing you in the right direction, or to a tutorial written by us either at Pretty Darn Cute Design, or Graphically Designing, or written by a member of the Genesis community.
We also offer paid customization for theme tweaks. Please complete my contact form, and I will get back to you with a quote, and a timeframe.
Additionally, you can learn how to customize your site yourself, by purchasing the TADA online workshop, or signing up for a one on one Skype session with me, or if you just want to start blogging, and don’t want to set up the site, we can do it for you. We offer a 24 hour theme set-up, or a customization package.
Let’s talk about 3rd Party Plugins
Each theme has a list of recommended plugins, which are used to give the theme additional functionality. At the time of creation of the theme, the plugins were tested, and work as expected. However, as plugins and WordPress is updated, we cannot guarantee that the plugins will continue to work. If you experience an issue with a plugin, we will be happy to make a recommendation for an alternate plugin, but support for the plugin is not provided through the support desk, and you should seek support through the plugin’s support desk/forum.
