On any site using the Genesis framework, the custom menu feature that is built in to WordPress itself is used. You must set up a menu to show navigation links for users to be able to navigate to various areas of your site.
A menu can be made up of pages, posts, categories, tags, products, and custom links.
To create a menu:
In your WordPress dashboard go to Appearance > Menus and create a new Menu. Type in a new menu name.
Once you have created your menu, you are ready to add your desired items.
Select the items you wish to add to your menu, and click “Add to Menu”. You can drag and drop the items into the order you wish them to appear. (If you are not seeing a full range of options on the left, click on “screen options” at the top of your menu page, and check the boxes for the options you would like to display.)
To have menu items drop down on the front, drag each menu item slightly to the right. This will nest them on this screen, and show them as drop downs on the front of your site.
If you would like to add your menu to your Primary or Secondary Navigation location, check the appropriate box.

Click Screen Options in the upper right corner of the Menus page to show more options for your menu items.
How to Create a Home link
In order to add a menu item linking to your site’s URL (your “home” page), create a custom link, adding in your site’s URL. Label it “Home”, and add it to your desired menu (click for screenshot)
Creating a non-clickable menu item
There may be occasions when you want to display a non-clickable menu item (for example, if you have a sub-menu that you would like to open up). Use the “Custom Link” option, add in a # (click for screenshot), then add to your menu. Save Menu.
