When you are logged into your WordPress site, the Toolbar will automatically display at the top of your site. This is convenient for allowing you to make quick edits to your site (such as creating a new post or page), but what if you don’t want to have it on display all the time?
With a quick update to your profile, you can easily disable this functionality.
- When viewing your site, click your username in the top right corner; this will bring you to the “edit Profile” page.
- Uncheck the ‘Show Toolbar when viewing site’ box.
- Scroll down, and select “Update Profile”.
Well I’ll be darned, I never knew we could do this and I’ve worked with WordPress for about 12 years…
Thanks Susan 🙂
Good tip. I think there is also a handy Chrome extension which will let you toggle the toolbar on and off.
