In the Pretty Darn Cute Facebook community, someone asked how to add a link to a policy page in the Entry Header of the Pretty Fabulous theme. They particularly liked the “Bullhorn” icon used in the theme, so wanted to incorporate that.
You can accomplish this by either editing your functions.php file directly, or using the Genesis Simple Edits plugin.
Add a link to a policy page in the Entry Header by updating the theme’s functions.php file directly
The Pretty Fabulous theme already has the Entry Header information added in the functions.php file. By default, it contains the post date. Look for this in your functions.php file:
Edit it to this:
As always, take care when editing your functions.php file directly, as you can crash your site if you’re not paying attention to what your adding/editing. For this reason, I recommend having a fresh download of your functions.php file available.
If you are using a theme other than the Pretty Fabulous theme, check your functions.php file to see if there is any similar code for the Entry Header before adding the code snippet above.
Add a link to a policy page in the Entry Header using the Genesis Simple Edits plugin
First, you’ll need to install and activate the Genesis Simple Edits plugin.
Then, go to Dashboard > Genesis > Simple Edits > Entry Meta, add the following code snippet (switching out the URL to my site with the link to your own privacy policy page.
